IT Infrastructure Engineer

Your primary responsibilities will include the day to day running of the network infrastructure here in the Isle of Man as well as other geographically distant locations, and to also provide support to end users of the IT core systems. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of networking essentials, with excellent service skills.

Key Duties:
• Design, implement and support a range of technologies and services including: Microsoft 365, network infrastructure, SAN, Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and ongoing support for customers
• Provide administration and maintenance of remote monitoring and management
• Provide and maintain documentation
• Provide technical assistance to team members with system and network requests
• 2nd and 3rd line support
• Deploying complex bespoke projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve any infrastructure related issues
• Server virtualisation and storage technologies Support and remote access solutions 
• Attending customer meetings with sales colleagues
• Participate in a standby rota for out-of-ours support issues
• Remote or onsite fault investigation
• Designing, deploying and supporting network functions such as switching, routing wireless networks, application load balancing, virtual private networking and network management tools.
• Supporting the design, implementation of disaster recovery solutions

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• You have excellent interpersonal and customer-care skills and experience in service management, delivery and support
• You have commercial enterprise experience with network and server infrastructure and have worked on a variety of IT installations
• You have relevant professional certifications (e.g. Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP)
• You enjoy challenging work, taking initiative and are self-motivated
• You're flexible and adaptable to change in a fast-moving environment
• You're well organised, effective at planning and willing to accept decision-making authority if required
• You're logical with strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
You will have a strong knowledge of the following: 
• • Network Switching/Routing configuration and implementation 
• • LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies

You will have experience/knowledge of the following: 
• • Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office products including O365 
• • Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 
• • Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Exchange online 
• • Microsoft AD and Group Policy 
• • VMware Virtualisation

Although not essential, experience/knowledge of the following would be advantageous: 
• • Storage Area Network Technologies 
• • Microsoft CRM 
• • Azure platform technology
