Recruitment of Temporary Staff
Temporary Personnel are required for a variety of reasons :
- To cover long term sickness/maternity leave
- To assist with a new or one-off project
- To assist with an influx of new business
- To cover staff leave or shortages
In all cases the Temp has to be able to provide the correct skills with a minimum of training - they also have to have the correct attitude and be able to fit into your existing team(s). At Miracles we have over 20 years experience of fitting the right Temp to the right Client - this is proven by the number of Temporary Personnel who are recruited into Permanent vacancies by our clients - we lose approximately 50% of our Temps that way.
As we take the time and trouble to get to know our Clients and understand their requirements, we are able to provide the candidate with not only the right skills and qualifications, but with the right personality to fit into their teams. We consider it to be crucial that all Temporary Personnel are team players. We also place great emphasis on the work ethic of our Temps - they are not there to waste your time and money, we expect them to represent us in an exemplary manner and to work hard.
Our Temporary Personnel sign confidentiality clauses and agreements that ensure they will not make inappropriate use of your email/internet facilities. They are also expected to turn off their mobile phones and to act professionally at all times. You are billed only for the exact time worked.
Miracles are the only Agency to follow a full Appraisal system for their Temporary Personnel. At the end of every assignment an Appraisal form is forwarded to the Client - on its return it is added to the Temps database file. Every three months the Temps are personally appraised in a face to face meeting where your comments (unless confidential) are relayed to them. The Appraisals enable us to provide you with a bespoke service that is unique to your company as we become increasingly conversant with your requirements.
At Miracles all the Temporary Personnel are interviewed and the Compliance procedures are followed as with the Permanent Personnel registrations. We also have the following additional procedures in place:
- The previous employer of all Temporary Personnel is contacted to provide a written reference to confirm/verify why they are no longer employed, this is also followed up verbally wherever possible (some organisations, such as Banks, will not verify references verbally).
- All Temporary Personnel sign a confidentiality agreement - see Declaration of Secrecy.
- All Temporary Personnel sign a declaration that they have no criminal convictions and, to the best of their knowledge, none outstanding.
- All Temporary Personnel sign to say that they will not abuse, or use inappropriately, clients computer systems.
- All Temporary Personnel are appraised both during, and at the close of, each assignment.
- Credit checks are completed if specifically requested by the Client.
- Miracles Limited are responsible for ensuring that all Temporary Personnel conform to the current legislation regarding Work Permits.
- Miracles Limited assumes responsibility for payment of remuneration, deduction and payment of all statutory contributions in respect of Income Tax and National Insurance contributions applicable to the Temporary Worker as required by law.
